ePortfolio Reflection
1. What impact did this assignment have on you or your understanding of the world? How did it challenge any of your assumptions? This assignment gave me the opportunity to take a look at the vast amount of art written, drawn, composed, and performed by individuals that have had personal experiences with disabilities. I took another look at a song that I have heard many times throughout my life, but never really listened to and dissected the lyrics. I compared that with something that was written by an artist who I really connect to. She seems to have experienced similar things to myself and I felt very touched by her interpretation of her disability and how it has affected her life. It challenged my assumptions because I didn’t realize how wide-spread disabilities and these emotions are. 2. Why did you pick this assignment to put in your e-Portfolio? What does it demonstrate about your learning? I chose this assignment because I felt that I grew the most as a person when I completed this assignment. It gave me an outlook on art and artists that I was not fully aware of previous to this.
