| Reflection How does this assignment (or the whole course) connect with what you learned in other General Education courses? My General Education courses have fostered learning, expanding knowledge, acceptance and understanding. I feel that this course has really lead me in that direction. There were several topics that I knew nothing about, and nearly every topic I had a limited knowledge on. I was lucky enough to have a great group of classes that taught me how to expand my acceptance of others, while at the same time learning new things about groups of people and what makes them unique. What impact did the assignment have on you or your understanding of the world -- Did it challenge any of your assumptions? For me, the gender equality assignment gave me the opportunity to examine and express my feelings on the topic. I was able to more fully understand my position on gender equality and the reason why I take the stance that I do. I was also able to do more research on the topic and see the differences, as well as the progress over the years. The positive comments assignment was by far my favorite. I still think about the way that I talk to my husband and how supportive I am of him. I do my best not to make my comments negative, and rather word them as non-aggressive because I want us to have a stronger, more supportive relationship. In my opinion, this was the most important assignment I was given.
